When Things Don't Go As Planned

When it comes to traveling, my husband and I are pretty good planners.

In 2018, we bought plane tickets to Florida 6 months before our trip.

We mapped out a glorious 10-day tour, where we would spend time on both coasts connecting with family and friends, meeting with business contacts and enjoying some beach time.

The trip seemed so far away for a long time…and then suddenly, it was here.

I woke up that morning feeling unusually alert, considering it was so early.

That’s because it was later than I thought.

The alarm never went off!

We scrambled to get out the door in 8 minutes flat (a personal record, BTW), hailed a cab and piled in.

Despite our best efforts, we missed our flight.

While talking over breakfast, my husband and I took another look at where we are headed in our lives and businesses.

We began to gain new perspective…see more clearly…and even hatched some new ideas for products and services that we never would have thought of if we had boarded that flight on time.

Sometimes there’s a reason that things don’t go as planned.

Maybe it’s an opportunity to rethink that program you’re struggling to fill.

Or to slow down and take a little more time on a project that you’ve been pushing so hard to complete.

It may be a sign that you’re misaligned…

…or that it’s time to let go of your beliefs about where you think you should be in your business.

So no matter how things may look in the moment, you can trust that the Universe has got your back.

Just keep your feet moving…and hold your plans lightly.

You never know what gifts are waiting for you on the other side.

P.S. – We did eventually get to our destination, almost a day later. Here’s a snap of us enjoying a bright sunny day on St Pete’s Beach in St. Petersburg, FL.
